Found Poem No. 15: In War

Forty-nine years ago on this day, my dad lost his legs to a landmine in Vietnam. I found this poem a few weeks ago.* I’m often in awe of how poems find their way into the world, at just the right moment. It post it today, in memory of my dad and of his friend, Edward, who carried him from the beach to the helicopter that lifted him to safety.
