found poem no. 2: a Haiku

the moon fainted, gone
the sun climbed across the sea
she woke, clad in gold

I wrote — or rather, found — this Haiku on a page of Hans Christian Anderson’s fairytale, The Little Mermaid. And also this one:

the moon drank, fainted
the sun climbed across the sea
she woke, clad in gold

I’m not sure which I like better. Which do you prefer?

  1. I love the image of the girl waking, clad in gold! What a vivid way to end the poem and conveys sunlight perfectly. Personally, I think I prefer the version with the word “gone” rather than “drank”, but I had a hard time deciding! 😊
